Hotel Riu Palace Las Americas - Adults Only- All Inclusive
5/5 Excellent
"Here is my review of this property. We loved our trip, and we loved the property overall. Just offering some unbiased feedback about what to expect.
1. The property is very well-kept. The pools are clean and beautiful. Our room was spacious and comfortable, and the balcony was pleasant for hanging out (when it wasn’t too sunny).
2. The food was … ok. The specialty restaurants were an upscale *experience* with not so great food (though the appetizer buffet at the Mexican Fiesta was really nice. We’re not buffet people, but we thought the buffet food outshone most of the specialty food, was fresh and turned over frequently. Given the chance for a do-over, we’d skip the steakhouse and Japanese. We were wishing they would stick to the local flavor and not try to be something they’re not.
3. Our room was a junior suite with two double beds smooshed up together, but each bed was made separately with just sheets. We asked for blankets and it took a while to get them. The separation between the beds was annoying for a couple. Not awful, just something to be aware of. I wished I’d upgraded to a true king for a few more bucks.
4. The TV got a bunch of local stations, only a couple in English and the reception was poor. Though it was a smart TV, it wasn’t connected to wifi (and we couldn’t connect it) so we weren’t able to watch any of our streaming faves. Again, not awful, but just know what to expect.
Lots more to say but space limits. It was a great 4* vacation — just not 5*"
