"In general, a very good stay and we enjoyed our time at the hotel which is very convenient to the surrounding area. My only issues are a)$40 daily resort fee which is kind of a joke given the limited amenities & b)$100 daily security deposit. We stay at a lot of hotels and rarely see this kind of requirement"

"The hotel was very quaint and old fashioned. but the first room we were given (room 22) a double, was very small and the bathroom was not acceptable with peeling paint in the bath and rust down wall and in need of renovation. We were shown another room (33) a queen, in a building adjacent to main hotel which was not much bigger but bathroom was ok and bed was comfy. I would definitely book a queen or king room if we went to Carmel again. "

"The hotel is in a great location and very well cared for. Rooms are large and well appointed. Wonderful breakfast, wine and cheese plus and cookies. Unfortunately, there is no air conditioning and we hit a very hot spell. There was only a fan in the room. The windows had to be left open at night on the busy street so it was quite noisy."
