"Overall, very good. The rooms are a bit dated and some obvious wear is evident. My chair had the back ripped, wear and scrpae marks on the wall and furniture wand carpet worn. Painted side of bathtub peeling badly and some rust on metal door frame of bathroom. But the bed was comfortable, Heat worked well and the area is QUIET. Only 3 minute drive to the ferry that takes you to downtown. One big minus, no restaurants around anywhere."

"Nice hotel overall, I give it 4 stars because of the noise in the surrounding area. It’s in an alley where’s there’s a lot of industry and also a train that passes by in the mornings. If you’re an early bird (6-7 am) then you will be fine, if not then you’ll be pretty annoyed. Staff was great though, front desk ladies were extremely helpful and kind. Rooms were clean and the breakfast was good. "

"My family really enjoyed this hotel and its proximity to local eats and live music. The bartender was fantastic and she made unique, tailored drinks for her guests. The only thing that could have been better was hot shower water being more consistent, but the historic nature of the property could be the cause of this. Other than that, the staff was extremely friendly and helpful throughout our stay. There was live music in the lobby every night! We would definitely consider staying here again! "

"This hotel is in a great location and had gated in and out self parking($45/day). They don't have a liquor license, yet, so we didn't get to enjoy the bar and it was a bit chilly to use the pool. Our room was spacious, great shower, and the bed was comfy. We will definitely come back."

"Perry at the front desk was terrific and made us feel very welcome and appreciated at check in. The Royal hotel has great personality and we love the inner courtyard.
