It’s been years since I last stayed at Hotel Monteleone and I was very pleasantly surprised by the updated room. The hotel is in a great location and of course has one of the most iconic bars in the French Quarter. My only complaint is really about the lighting in the room. There’s a nightlight in the bathroom which glows through the glass bathroom door. There are nightlights under the bed which turn on even if a blanket falls in front of them. And there’s a blue light on the ceiling which lights up with any movement in the room whatsoever. None of this was particularly helpful to us as light sleepers.

This is one of the only local family owned hotels left in the city is what we were told. You can tell everyone that works here genuinely enjoys their job and is there to serve their guests. They are very accommodating. Once me and my daughter stepped foot in the hotel at night we immediately felt a sense of security. The rooftop pool is wonderful, everything is very clean and it’s within walking distance of nearly everything. Can’t say enough great things about this hotel.

Everything was great except it felt like they were trying to nickel and dime you for everything. Valet parking for 2 nights was 110. Received an email offering late check out service for the lowly price of 116.00. Was told my room came with early access to the carousel bar and when I tried to use the option I was told it would be 110.00 per person for the reservation. Outside of that everything else was great. Hotel restaurant was fabulous. Property and staff were great.

Excellent location close to all the places of interest in the French Quarter. The room was large enough and very clean. Had breakfast at the hotel’s restaurant Criollo and it was great. The Carousel bar is unique and has a slowly rotating carousel. Definitely my go to place for the next trip to NOLA!
