New procedure to open gates and doors is a 6 digit code. This is to help with security. But kids has access to the grounds and also can reach over the door and open it without the code. "This unit is by far the best in the Kona Mansions complex. I stayed at another unit in the same building and there was not much of a view. The room we just stayed at has the best view of the sunsets. We literally came back from our daily excursions just to watch the sunset from the balcony with windows open. "Absolutely beautiful and way past what we expected as far as the room and amenities. Highly reccomend The only downside to this property was the disrespectful other residents who dont realize a person younger than 55 can rent the same rental as them. Almost every time i went outside the apartment someone side eyed me and my wife and or made sly comments about the property being private. I didnt know i had to have my papers to walk around for the hall monitor residents. "

"We stayed 8 days in January/February. The views from this condo are not "breathtaking," so keep that in mind when booking, unless you enjoy looking at other people on the decks of their condos. It was in the building farthest away from the ocean and pool but nearest the road. It is a perfectly fine space and served as a good home base. It was easy to walk to the main strip of restaurants and easy to walk in the other direction to the farmer's market. Getting there can be tricky because traffic...
