"Great little hotel right on the water. Manager Jim was fantastic, friendly, and attentive. Fairly close to good restaurants. Parking is very small and tight, if you have a mid size or larger vehicle, good luck parking here. You will have to park across the strret. Pool was clean. Water pressure is low. Overall, great place, would stay again."

"Great hotel in the heart of Kona! Walkable to Kona Brewery, shopping, and more. Parking was paid but super convenient at the hotel. Rooms were large, clean, and had great amenities. Breakfast was the perfect way to start the day and every staff member we interacted with was kind and professional. We'll be back on our next trip to Big Island!"

"Decent hotel. Private beach good for families with kids. Good location by the city center and close to airport Downsides: exorbitant parking fee of 35$ and destination tax of 22$ which adds up. The hotel luau (island breeze) was quite expensive but Food at island breeze luau was bad. "

"We loved our stay at the Kona Palace. The house is well maintained and beautifully furnished. Rebecca and her husband her very warm and welcoming. The breakfasts prepared by Rebecca each morning are delicious and feature fruits, as well as jams and preservers, all of from their own garden. We were introduced to the "soursop" fruit dueing our stay therem which was very tasty.The terracew where breakfast is served offers a breathtaking view of Kealekekua Bay. "Nice little place in very good location. 50 yard walk to water front Alii Street full of good restaurants. Very popular place. Would have been nice to have a table to eat at. I always found a place to park but parking is difficult. It is what it is. There was a $270+ fee added to my charge that I was not made aware of at time of booking. Otherwise it was a pretty inexpensive place to stay in an expensive destination"

"Mostly very clean, except sliding glass doors. Would have cleaned myself but no cleaning materials on site. Wanted to love this place. We have stayed in other units but were delighted to find a first floor unit. The good: well equipped, comfortable, plenty of towels, and beach stuff. Nice patio area. "We found The Big Island Rereat to be just as good as the pictures! It was easy to find right off Ali'i drive. Check in and out were both very easy. We stayed in the Ocean View room which was just as advertised. There is no AC which is in the room description so there was no surprise. Ceiling fan and to other larger standing fans kept the air moving through the room. There is a common area which has beach chairs to use and some snorkel gear and boogie boards as well and an outdoor kitchen with 2 BBQs and full sized fridge for anyone there can use The only challenge on the property was the parking. There is enough parking for the rooms, it's just a little tight especially if you wnat to back-in. I would suggest Not renting a large SUV. Overall the facility worked out perfecly for our vacation."

Great value when staying in Kailua Kona

"My wife and some friends just returned from two weeks here.The unit was conveniently located right off of Ali’i Boulevard. It was about a mile from the KTA grocery store, about 100 yards from Kahalu’u Beach Park, and just down the street from the Magic sands Beach Park.The unit was very clean. The hosts communications were accurate and timely.The unit was very well equipped with about everything you need, including soaps, shampoos, and conditioner.The unit was well equipped with many disposables such as trash bags, dishwasher detergent, and spices.It was also equipped with beach chairs, a beach, umbrella, snorkel gear, and coolers.The washer and dryer were huge.The views from the rental were pretty decent and the views of the ocean from the pool were very, very good.We all agreed that this was a great place and would have no problem staying here again. "

Kona area vacation

"Great location. Close to town, stores and easy walk to the beach. The residence is beautiful and the house and kitchen are well stocked with everything you’ll need to enjoy your time on the island. Located on a main road through town so traffic noise can be loud and steady at times. Driveway can be difficult to see at night. Reflector at the entrance of the drive would remedy that. Communication with the owner was great. Overall a great place to stay. "

"Stayed here with our two adult children and there partners. Great family stay and had everything we needed . We did ask about a kettle for boiling water for tea and one was delivered the following day which was very much appreciated . Good view of Sunset from patio ! "

"The complex was very safe and matched the island vibe perfectly! Also the condo's decor was cute and reminded me of the birds we saw during our hikes. I could for sure live there and sleep next to the ocean every night. My first Vrbo experince went as smoothly as it could go and my friend and I had a great time!"
