"The property is beautiful and in the off season the price was reasonable. The breakfast is over the top, lots of choices. The coffee was the only breakfast issue and the staff needs to be trained in this area, it was often cold or prepared improperly. The beach is wonderful but the area behind the lounges needs to be cleaned, it looked terrible. The construction on the port side was super loud and created industrial smell that was unpleasant. "First of all the staff and breakfast were amazing. The hiking trip organised by the hotel was awesome. The location is really good. The downsides there were lots of bugs in my room. I killed them all and i thought that was the end of it then on the last day upon checking out there was a huge cockroach on the floor, i presume their mother. The water pressure for the hot water didnt seem to exist at times and you had to run it for a while to make it work. "

"Cat Ba is a resort town with lots of mid-range restaurants and markets selling the same thins. We had hoped to bicycle more but it is very hilly and the bicycles available were not up to the task. "Hai and Chilly were fabulous hosts, communicative and always happy to assist in any way. As it was winter we opted to stay in the village. "The best hotel ive stayed in so far on my trip to vietnam. Trung the receptionist was so helpful, I wish all were as good as him. He goes the extra mile and genuine service. The hotel was spotless and my room spacious with a great view of the bay, especially sunrise in the morning rising above one of the islet peaks. I would definitely recommend this hotel for someone who prefers a quieter location away from the main town and very close to the cruise boat harbour. 5 stars from me"
