"The property is beautiful and in the off season the price was reasonable. The breakfast is over the top, lots of choices. The coffee was the only breakfast issue and the staff needs to be trained in this area, it was often cold or prepared improperly. "I will preface this review with that I went just after Super Typhoon Yagi. The hotel suffered a lot of damage and large parts of the hotel were closed off entirely. I know the resort would've suffered a lot financially because of this, but as a guest I was left a little miffed that I paid full price for part of the experience. "The hotel is very well managed, spotless clean & updated with a cute contemporary style, Beds comfy!! Warm welcome with fruit and smoothies, and breakfasts were not buffet, decent options, and servings large. Great downtown location. The window views of an abandoned building with garbage galore behind it was disappointing - but not uncommon in Vietnam. Overall, I would bring my family to this hotel any day. Bonus: the company also runs tours, thus making the planning seamless."

"First of all the staff and breakfast were amazing. The hiking trip organised by the hotel was awesome. The location is really good. The downsides there were lots of bugs in my room. I killed them all and i thought that was the end of it then on the last day upon checking out there was a huge cockroach on the floor, i presume their mother. The water pressure for the hot water didnt seem to exist at times and you had to run it for a while to make it work. "

"We stayed in the deluxe double room with a balcony at the Cat Ba View Hotel. The mountain was perhaps 5 meters away, so the view was of a wall of vertical vegetation. It was very private, and we had lovely butterflies flitting about. The room was comfortable, and the breakfast buffet was good. The two Nanh's were hospitable and kind. The location is a block off the main street, so the noise is less than directly in Cat Ba Town. If going to Cat Ba, we would stay here again. "
