"Pros: the hotel grounds are nice, staff were very helpful/friendly, the pool area is great, and the breakfast was excellent. It's in a great location close to La Fortuna waterfall and walking distance to the El Salto rope swing and a few restaurants. We had a car though, and I would recommend having one if staying here for better access to La Fortuna. Cons: the wifi doesn't work in the rooms - only in the pool area, restaurant, and lobby. "We stayed here 4 days, had a lovely junior suite, very large room and bath with private outdoor space surrounded by plants so felt very private. We enjoyed doing things in the Fortuna area and spending 1-2 hours in the hot springs pools each day. Night was very pretty with the colored lights on the pools and less people than during the day. "What a GEM of a hotel! Even better than the pictures. The grounds are so beautiful with lots of flowering plants. We saw a Toucan and 3 Sloths! The Staff was very helpful with spotting the Sloths plus Coffee tour and restaurant recommendations. Breakfast was fantastic! We only had two nights here but wished we had a longer stay. "It is an older era quaint property and if you can accept that you will enjoy! Our family played at the pool table one night and had so much fun! It has beautiful private grounds, helpful staff and had a gorgeous view of the volcano from our room. Definitely need a 4x4 car to traverse the steep windy driveway in (there are signs that say “halfway there, trust” lol) but worth it as so private but so close to Fortuna!"
