"We are a family of 4 and we booked 2 rooms. The service was incredible from start to finish. Aya and Rodrigo go out of their way to make sure you have everything you need. There was also a young Japanese man, I forgot his name. He was the sweetest person you will ever meet. The rooms were spacious and very clean. The neighborhood is very quiet and a little bit away from the city, but there are places to eat within walking distance. I would stay here again if we ever came back to Kyoto!"

"Room was spacious, staff was very friendly and accommodating. Great amenities. The area/street was quiet but the rooms soundproofing are not great and I could hear noise from adjacent rooms. May need a taxi or spend time in transit to go site seeing, but some places are walkable. I enjoyed the outside bath even on rainy nights, as it was under cover. Overall enjoyed my stay here."

"Stayed here on a Solo trip through Japan and it was the highlight of my trip. A taste of authentic, traditional Japan, with super welcoming hosts, delicious breakfasts, and a special and calming tea ceremony. The bath and the end of day was a great way to relax after! The location is in a less touristy area but still easily accessible by bus from Kyoto station. The owner was able to recommend some local places and events to visit, and provided great insight into some of the traditions...

"I had a pleasant stay at First Cabin Nijojo. The location was excellent for transportation, making it convenient to explore the area. However, it felt somewhat crowded compared to my experience at First Cabin Roppongi in Tokyo, which I personally preferred. Despite this, the overall experience at First Cabin Nijojo was positive. I appreciate the service provided during my stay."

"This small hotel is perfect in every way. The room was surprisingly spacious relative to Japanese rooms, and the fall foliage from our balcony was lovely. But it was the sweetness of the staff that we will most remember. When an Uber failed to show, the manager came out and hailed a taxi for us. As we were leaving, I paused about a half block away to check Google maps; my wife noticed that the hotel staff that was seeing us of, remained outside to make sure that we were OK.
