"Our room was clean and comfortable. Check in staff was friendly. Note that a lot of the restaurants are on the military base, which you can't access. There is a grocery store nearby."

"Room had microwave and refrigerator and coffeemaker, all of which were a plus. The Mexican restaurant in the hotel was good. Also, there is a grocery store immediately next door (walkable). Bedside lighting in the room was very good. Price was reasonable for the area. Very convenient to Joshua Tree National Park entrance. A special shout out to the front desk worker who very pleasantly, quickly and efficiently fixed a problem with our room service. "

"The Hartsville is a unique stay with all the comfort of home but lots of unique character. There is so much to do in the house that you don't need to leave. Beautiful views of the surrounding desert. Everything you need except your clothes and food is there. While I knew it was on a dirt road the only thing I wasn't prepared for was how far done it was but it was easily managed in my car. Communication with the host was easy."

"This home has everything we needed for a 5-day stay to explore Joshua Tree National Park. The patio has a terrific view of the desert and hills in the background. We enjoyed relaxing there to watch the changing shadows on the hills as the sun set. We enjoyed the full moon from the hot tub as well! The owners are very friendly -- communication and check-in were both efficient, and their restaurant suggestion was fantastic! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and highly recommend this home to anyone...

"We really enjoyed our stay! There were 6 of us and we each had our own room and bathroom. The house was really well stocked--plenty of the basics like pots, pans, dishes, but also pleasantly stocked with extras such as spices, cooking oil, and lots of pool towels. We were super relieved to find a bag of ground coffee waiting for us. We had brought whole beans and no grinder, so that worked out perfectly. We would definitely return."
