"Booked through hotels.com Lovely staff in reception, Parking was easy and we slept well (reasonably firm mattress and pillow which was ideal for me) It was quite warm so we slept with the window open, not a problem. We were supposed to receive a free breakfast (according to our booking) but were told they don’t do breakfasts although we could, if we wished, pay £5.99 for a breakfast box, from reception or just mooch over to Greggs. "This is a beautiful property, located conveniently close to the station and a short walk to York's historic city center. Staff was very friendly and helpful and the breakfast buffet was exceptional. We would happily stay in The Grand, York on any future visit."

"We were celebrating my Husband’s 60th Birthday, and were given the lovely surprise of an upgrade plus a welcome treat in our room. It’s good to see the Hotel is continually improving the look of the Hotel by upgrading the flooring and extra new touches at breakfast. Big shout out to Rekah a staff member who is so welcoming."
