"We loved this hotel. We wanted to stay somewhere that had some character/older and this was exactly that. We got a renovated room and it was very clean and spacious. Bathroom still pretty outdated but clean. Only con, there was no sofa/lounge to sit and watch tv. The hotel lobby area still pretty traditional looking, maybe time to change rugs, paint doors replace door knobs. But we did notice rooms being renovated so assume they will eventually get to the rest of the hotel. Negative was the parking situation. We noticed parking is just an issue in the entire city. We paid $67 for two hour parking when going to Skydeck. All parking garages were $40 . Thought it was outrageous. We did not park at parking garage to hotel because they do not allow in-out access which is crazy. If I am paying for parking daily I should be able to accesses my car as much as I need to. "

"Gonna keep this review short, simple, & sweet so without further ado….. et’s get into my review!: Pros: - Near many fast food & regular food restaurants (there's even one downstairs!) - Easily accessible from the airport by train, bus , &/or Uber - Very kind Staff - The walk-in shower had see through glass (also had curtains for privacy) looked beautiful & the water pressure felt amazing! No complaints about the hot water either! It was steaming!!! - Perfect views, price, & room size for a quick weekend trip for friends, family, or even a romantic getaway! - Spacious Gym as well. I worked out the morning before I left & it was peaceful with just me in there. Cons: - The lighting in the rooms were a bit too dim. Yes, there were lamps but still too dark in the rooms. What to expect: - A Fridge with refreshments inside (but of course if you touch it, you pay for it!) - There's no microwave in the rooms to reheat food & the restaurant below doesn't allow reheating outside food either."

"The hotel seems very new and updated. Its about 2 city blocks from everything you'd want to get to in downtown Chicago and a short walk to Millennium Park. Its close to restaurants and offers nice views of the Chicago River. We used the parking option affiliated with the hotel , it was 59$ a night but offered In and Out privileges. "

"I love the River Hotel! We stay here every time we visit. The location is perfect, staff are amazing and so friendly, the rooms are always clean and perfect. Yes the rooms are on the smaller side but who cares, you’re not in them that much. They are still great. Plus the hotel is perfectly located for just about everything. "
