I liked the property. I didn' like (at check in) that I was informed that in addition to the charge for the room, I was required to buy $25.00 each day of hotel services and if I didn't, I would be charged the additioonal $25. each day anyway. To me, that is welcoming a guest with a slap in the face.

The pool was nice for the kids and it was super close to the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. There are no microwaves or coffee makers in the room. So snacking on leftovers in the middle of the night is not an option. And the line for starbucks in the hotel was about an hour wait. Dunkin Donuts is right around the corner. This hotel is gorgeous!

This is my 3rd or 4th stay at Palmer House. It is now one of my most favorite places to stay. Its always been clean. The staff are extremely friendly. I love the "feel" when you come into the lobby. Its historical. It FEELS grand when you walk in. But its not pretentious. It feels like you have stepped into a special piece of history. I would recommend this hotel for anyone who wants to experience Chicago and its history, who wants something special and unique. Look at the pictures.on the wall, The ceilings etc. The Lakewood is also.an amazing place.to.eat.

The hotel is BEAUTIFUL! The staff was great! We had one plan a day for our 4 day stay and we walked to all of our dates! The Walnut Room Day -Lunch and shopping, The Art Museum Day - Explore and Learn. The Candlelight Concert and Grand Dinner Day. The Millenium Park Day - Brunch and Park Day! We walked to all of these and everything was so close. The lobby is a great place to hangout and meet new friends, grab a bite to eat and drink. The vibe in the hotel is just so good that I will never forget this wonderful trip.
