"The staff were very kind and accommodating. Breakfast was delightful and great portions. The room was lovely, clean and well stocked. Towels were pretty small and the washing up facilities weren’t great with our little kitchen area is the only slight critique. Great location, little walk to loads of good spots and super convenient for the train station. Trains are quite loud, but we did have the window open and it is very close so kind of can’t get away from that."

"After reading some of the negative reviews we were very pleasantly surprised. Staff were helpful and attentive and actually went above and beyond. Overall the property is a little dated and and in one of our rooms the tv wasn't working properly and in another the the lightbulbs needed replacing but it's clean, the beds are comfy and it's close to town. Would definitely stay here again."

"Monk Bridge in York was our favourite stay after travelling all through England. The rooms are clean and comfortable, and the entire B&B is lovely, with a serene backyard garden and a lounging room. The breakfast they serve is incredible with homemade selections. I’m allergic to eggs, usually a bit tricky for B&Bs, yet I had varied options to choose from. Its location is perfect, a 10 minute walk from the centre of York, in a quiet location with a few options very close. No stone is left...

"The owner was first class and willing to help with carrying my luggage etc. The property is on a busy side street. With major gas works being carried out during my stsy. This work caused the footpath to be closed which meant i had to cross the road and dodge the traffic and the parked cars ( i am waiting for a replacment knee so i found it difficilt, in swapping footpaths) but dont be put off with this the work is due to be finished in two weeks. The property is only a short walk to the beach...

"We stayed here Friday to Monday. We had room number 6 (top floor) which we didn’t mind - we got our steps in 😂 however the only reason I didn’t give this 5 stars is that it was so hot (out of the owners control!) but it just needed some type of air con or extra fans. We had the window open the whole time which helped a bit. However - it was clean, tidy, excellent location and the owners are really friendly. "
