"This hotel is situated in a very nice location facing the lava pools.The beds were comfortable, the balcony was spacious with a beautiful view of the ocean and the buffet breakfast was good. It is within walking distance to all sights in Porto Moniz . There is lots of parking available. Staff were friendly and efficient. We appreciated the thoughtful welcome and departure gifts."

"The hotel was great. Very clean and nice staff. Drinks at the bar were good and the food was okay. The buffet got old after the week. There was entertainment at night. I really enjoyed the stay and would stay here again."

"For a 4 star hotel i would say that the quality of room furnishing was below par and the bathroom definitely needed a refurb. However the location , with a great sea side saltwater pool, and only 15-20 minute easy walk to Funchal old town, was excellent and made the hotel excellent value for money, overall, at the price. Also great breakfast with full range of choices and lovely staff. A good mid-range choice and we would probably choose it for a future visit."

"Overall a pleasant stay. The rooms are spacious. If you get a room facing the street and taxi stand it will be noisy at night as there are vars and restaurants across the street. The front desk staff are helpful. Breakfast gets very busy after 830 am and the tables aren't cleared fast enough and glasses and bowls need to be replenished often. It is a 20 minute walk to Funchal and coming back from Funchal there is a medium incline that requires some energy so this is not for everyone,...
