You do not stay in the main family house but in a beautifully remodeled ruin that has so much charm. lovely breakfasts and delicious wines and tapas from their vineyard. beautiful room and view of the Douro Valley. We really enjoyed our two night stay in Douro especially because of Casa do Santo. just a few rooms so there is opportunity to visit with other guests of the quinta. "

"Charming Quinta outside Évora with perfect hosts Daniela and Ricardo. Very charming place and property is beautiful. Treat yourself to a walk to visit the sheep, goats, donkeys, pigs, birds. Best treat though is special meal prepared in wood oven by Ricardo. You have to book that dinner ahead of arrival directly with the Quinta. Very worth it!! All employees were great during our stay end October. "

"We absolutely loved our stay at Quinta da Marka! It was beautiful and on such a picturesque spot along the river. It was so relaxing and a restful spot for our honeymoon. The train station is nearby to get to other cities if you wanted to, otherwise it is quite isolated in this area. Walking over to Quinta do Crasto for a wine tasting & tour was a highlight of the area too! The Quinta offered breakfast, lunch, and dinner which was very convenient. Angela was so helpful in getting us checked in...

"Quinta da Barroca is an excellent place for a relaxed family time in Douro or for an event. It lacks some maintenance or improvement in some things (such as the children's park and the sauna/jacuzzi), but the houses and the scenery are great. Breakfast could have some more variety, but it's good enough, the fruit is excellent, apples right from the tree "
