"Stay away from here! Too dangerous. Never experienced anything like this before. The inn was surrounded with wanderers and trespassers shouting and fighting. The building/parking lot was dark with no valid lights. The office was closed, lights off, and vacant to the point that we did not attempt to get out of the car for check-in. Broken glasses in the parking lots and the roads surrounding. Safer to sleep on the streets by Ghirardelli Square."

"My stay at the San Francisco Marriott Union Square was pleasant. The hotel's prime location near Union Square was perfect for exploring shops and restaurants. The rooms were clean and comfortable, with great city views. The staff was outstanding—friendly, helpful, and welcoming. The only minor downside was that some areas felt slightly dated. A strike was going on, and this detracted from the experience, but I don't fault the property for this. I recommend this hotel; it is great for business...

"The hotel is a bit old. It's great if you're looking to stay in a property with a historical aspect. Check-in was troubling. I don't recall on the Hotel's description here on Expedia or on their own website that the deposit was $400 up front. I stayed for 6 days so that should have been around $170. The room I stayed in was okay. The bathroom was small and the furniture was peeling. How you watch TV in the room was a little new which was appealing.
