Historic Hotels in New York from SAR 409

"Great location, clean rooms but are very small (to be expected in NYC) super close to penn station and within walking distance to Times Square and the Empire State Building. All the staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Loved the art deco style of the hotel. The only negative is parking is very expensive and a bit of a hassle to load and unload, and no in and out privileges as it’s off property parking. Overall a great hotel and I would recommend staying here. "

"The hotel is unique in decor. It is older, but very clean and antique decor. I loved it. We were pleasantly surprised to get a larger room. Very close to Central Park and Museum across the street. Also subway is close. We walked to the theatre district for a play. I was so happy to find that cleaning staff found my wallet. I had left it in the safe and staff had given it to the office. "Not the most comfortable bed I’ve ever slept in, but very affordable for a private room. Shared bathroom was clean and not very busy. Area feels safe and has plenty of bars and restaurants within walking distance. 14-ish minute walk from the nearest train station."

"Charming old-world ambience. My room had a king-sized poster bed which some people would need a step ladder to get on (I'm not tall, but am agile!), but very comfortable. Some rooms need more logical placement of outlets for lights and electronics; other rooms are up to date. The ambience is friendly and the staff are excellent. Plus, it's so convenient to downtown and for leaving city center. "
