"Traveled as a couple celebrating 25th anniversary. Our first time out of the US, so both nervous we had chosen the right resort and of course nervous traveling to Mexico at all. Everything could not have been more perfect so this is also a reflection on Cancun as a whole. Tons and tons of research on AI resorts here before we chose Haven. This place is heaven on earth. Hospitality is over the top. We were serenity ocean front swim out, and the views were spectacular! Breakfast on the patio with the sunrise is priceless! Resort is off by itself a bit so almost no one on the beaches even during the day so it's quiet and private. Great restaurants but overall average to above average food. Tahani dinner experience is definitely at the top, if you know you know. Liquor is weak as with most AI's. If your serenity you do get a bottle of liquor at check in so it's great to spike your drinks with. Our butler Paco was a shining star and went out of his way to make our stay perfect. Everyone, right down to the pool cleaners were overly nice and helpful and made it feel like one giant family. Nightlife is a bit on the boring side, but you can make your own party as pools are open 24hrs and we met some nice couples there to visit with later in the evenings over drinks. They have activities all day everyday so there really isn't a need for you to leave however they have an excursion desk right in the lobby to sign up for off resort activities. "We loved our second stay in a "corner/tower" room (room #652 this time). The Cancun Point location of Riu Palace Las Americas allows for safer swimming, away from the dangerous riptides that can form along the "straight-line" beachfront along much of the coastline. Staff were wonderful, with special to Berenice in Reception, Miguel in lobby (luggage management), Marlene in Don Romero beachfront-buffet dining area, and the young lady who operates the Capuchino bar in the early mornings (we are sorry to have forgotten her name, but she is also a treasure). However, as guests who are 60 years of age, we do have a few points of constructive criticism: 1) We do not drink much alcohol, but when we do order a cocktail, we are willing and able to pay more for a premium option - but this option doesn't exist. 2) The beach lounge chairs are not comfortable for older bodies like ours. Again, we would like to have a premium option, - ie, to be able to rent a high-quality CUSHION for our lounge chairs. 3) Finally, once the entertainment begins at 10AM, it is difficult to find a quiet place to read on the beachfront. Also, the music volume is quite loud at night, making it difficult for those of us who go to sleep around 9:30-10PM - even in our 6th floor room #652. We actually LOVE the Riu Palace Las Americas, but as we get older, we may decide not to return only because of these few "pain points." We want to thank your incredible staff for our amazing memories!"

"Amazing strong drinks with top shelf alcohol. Great food! My husband said the sushi was very fresh and some of the best he’s had at a resort. Wish they had more breakfast options than just the buffet. Beach is gorgeous. Housekeeping is amazing and hard working. We always walked into a clean room and loved the nightly turn down service."
