"The food at the buffet was excellent. Lots of choices. Fresh fruit and salads and a great selection of fish and meats and vegetarian options. Staff are very friendly. It is just west of Funchal so a little quieter but walked into Old Town and had a rental car to explore the island. Lots of great hiking in Madeira. I will come back!!!!"

"Beautiful propert and grounds/gardens in particular. True 5 star, staff and service lovely - organised several trips for us. Only thing - and it’s personal opinion - was that the menus for breakfast, lunch, dinner were not always to our taste and there were often better and cheaper options in Funchal. We tended to eat from the breakfast buffet rather than table menu which we enjoyed b much. None of the above should dissuade you from staying there. I would say it’s one of the best hotels...

There is a maximum of 6 guests at the property at any time so it was like a small dinner with friends. I LOVED the architecture of the villa and how everything was laid out.
