"Great property with a great experience for our family of 5. Room was large and confortable. Staff was excellent in all areas. The nighttime shows were family friendly and fun. The dining options were very good with a nice variety. No skimping with the all inclusive option as staff was willing to fill drinks and accommodate dining requests without batting an eye. Bring lots of sunscreen and mosquito repellent for the evening. I definitely recommend for a family vacation. "

"Have always enjoyed Melia at this location. This was our 8th trip, since 2010. There have been many upgrades and renovations over the years and the property continues to be second to none. The food is also very good. Over the past 15 years we have also noted certain things slipping. Although there are several well trained and experienced staff still around, it has been noted that there are many new ones that do not seem to have the right skill set. We enjoy eating at The Riviera (originally Gabi’s), however tables seem to not be managed well, even with reservations, we were kept waiting some nights, for over half an hour. Food was always good and service was as well, for the most part. Despite calling the front Level and then visiting them in person, we did not receive any drinking water for the room for an entire night. The in-room jacuzzi jets were not functional, nor was the TV. Not a big deal, as we were not there to watch TV, but still a sign of things not being attended to. Most days we did not get enough bath towels or any face cloths. One of the things we really liked about Melia over the years was the attention placed on detail. It was consistently well maintained and kept up. This didn’t seem to be the case this round. New Years Eve celebrations were always quite well done in years passed. The cut backs this year were evident. Overall, we still would go back, but I hope the place does not continue on this decline, otherwise the large cost per person"

"Pros: Lots of food options. If you don't like something, then you must be a VERY picky eater. Staff is very friendly. There are plenty of beach chairs available, even during a busy season. Close to the airport. Cons: There's many people trying to sell you stuff on the beach. I'm not sure if the hotel can do anything about it. The pool area is very slippery. I saw more than one person fall, no major injuries, but it's a safety hazard. "
