"This is a small European like hotel in old San Juan. The hotel is very calm and quiet, with no kids allowed. The staff are very friendly and helpfu. You have to remember there is no elevator, and the rooms are small by US standards. We had an interior room with no windows. They do not serve food, but there are tons of restaurants very close to the hotel. Did I mention the open bar?"

"In the heart of Old San Juan. Walkable to all sites. Room was big and comfy. Breakfast was extra charge ($15-20/plate) but good and made fresh, setting on the rooftop terrace was nice, but service was kinda slow. A/C could only be controlled by the front desk. "

"Unfortunately not happy with my supposedly last day staying 3/26 through the next day. The electricity was gone around 5 the guy at the receptionist told me they were trying to fix it won't tale long. Two hours past and nothing I ask him what happen if the electricity doesn't come back. He say yes it will they working on it with some company. But funny "

"Casa of essence is located in a really convenient location in old san juan which allows to explore it easily with a lot of options for food, drinks, and music all around. The Bamboo room is overall good and comfy, but there was a moldy odor in the room. We also saw cockroaches in the bathroom and near the fridge. This didn’t ruin our experience, so I recommend this location for your stay in the beautiful San Juan."
