"Nice hotel. Rooms basic and small but very clean. Staff superbly helpful. Bathrooms are a bit odd, accessible via a raised step, no bath - bit like stepping into an airport toilet. If you want an accessible bathroom ?(i.e. walk-in, I found out on arrival) you need to request (which I will do next time). Good location, close to harbourside and bus stops. The staff made this hotel really, very helpful and friendly. Good breakfast options also including gf options. "

The Washington is my favourite to stay in — always low noise, always friendly staff, always comfy and clean beds. The building is a little worn down, inside and out, but if you’re looking for a consistently good, lower cost hotel to stay for a few days, this is the place."

"The Royal is within easy walking distance of the train statio, the Cardiff Castle, Cardiff Museum, Stadium, several arcades, and a wide variety of good restaurants. Our room was very nice with wood floors. The beds were comfortable, and the bathroom was well organized with a really lovely spacious bath/shower. We appreciated the free early baggage storage prior to check-in. Finally, the staff were very polite and helpful. "
