Shichahai Shadow Art Performance Hotel
3.5 star property
8.8 out of 10, Excellent, (552)
"A perfect little gem of a hotel right in the centre of the hutongs. Very clean and welcoming with superb service from their staff (who speak English). The hotel is like a little museum to Chinese shadow art with so much information, examples and a library. An added bonus was the actual shadow art performance and demonstration by the puppeteer. "

Beijing Hyde Courtyard Hotel
Beijing Dongfang Hotel
3.5 star property
7.0 out of 10, Good, (61)
"A solid, mid-range hotel. Comfortable beds and decent service, though given the time of year they had not activated the air-conditioning in the rooms yet. "
Beijing Dongfang Hotel
PekingUni Photography theme Hotel
2.5 star property
6.4 out of 10, (14)

"Decent location. Easy to walk to real street scenes of interest. That is the best quality of this characterless business hotel. Not expensive, decent location."

Hill Lily Courtyard
3.0 star property
7.2 out of 10, Good, (61)
"The hotel is fantastically located just a short walk from Tiananmen Square, the Forbidden Palace and the rest of central Beijing. Our room was tiny, but that's the price to be paid for a boutique room in a traditional hutong building and you can't argue with the price for this location. The staff were helpful, the room was clean and had everything we needed and breakfast was fine. The courtyard is beautiful and peaceful away from the noise of Beijing."
