"I've been here a few times. It's really coming up to speed in terms of care and maintenance. Everything is very clean and comfortable. However, the room heat was off and it's pretty cold tonight. We've got the heat up but the room next store must be off and the cold is seeping through. We're ok but it's nippy."

"This Hollywood-inspired reminds of the old film noir detective movies. The interior design is consistent with the old classic golden age of Hollywood. In contrast, the rooms were dated with old carpet and no microwaves. The bathroom is extremely spacious with two sinks. However, the shower has a handheld hose that produced a weak stream of water. "What an oasis this hotel was for our long weekend in Portland. In a world of beige and bland hotel rooms, The Royal Sonesta was a breath of fresh air. On paper nothing in the rooms should match, but somehow it all just works, and is a feast for your eyes. Comfortable beds, the most amazing staff (thank you Owen! ♥️) , who bend over backwards to be helpful, friendly and accommodating. Seriously, they have literally found the very best people!! We may need to just move in! Ha! "
