"The inn is ideally positioned between Ambleside and Windermere with views of the lake from the restaurant. We had a room without a view but it was quiet and very clean. The room had tea and coffee facilities as well as heating you could adjust yourself if needed. The beds were very comfortable and bathroom spotless. My only issue was the smoke alarm on the ceiling flashed throughout the night meaning the room lit up blue which was very annoying but I’m unsure how you could stop this. The breakfast was fantastic with a wide variety of choices and served until 10am. Staff are what makes the inn so welcoming as all spoke to us which was lovely. I would recommend the inn to anyone wanting a very comfortable and welcoming place to stay at a great price "

"Couldnt fault anything apart from we were in room 131 and the privacy in the hot tub lacked a bit. Everyone that passed either on foot or in a car were gawping at us. A non clear banister would stop this. My wife felt a little bit awkward walking to and from the tub. "

"We recently stayed at the North Lakes Hotel & Spa as a stopover on our journey from Scotland to England, and it was a fantastic experience. The hotel itself is beautiful, with a warm and welcoming atmosphere, and the family room was perfect for us. The children were thrilled to find named biscuits and their own welcome packs waiting on arrival – such a thoughtful touch! One of my personal highlights was the fresh milk machine just outside our room, which made bedtime bottles for the kids super easy. The room was spacious, tastefully decorated, and catered really well to our family’s needs. While the hotel was incredibly child-friendly overall, we did find the restaurant a bit tricky – it was lovely but hard to get a reservation, and it didn’t feel quite as geared towards families as the rest of the hotel. That said, we would absolutely return and highly recommend it for anyone travelling with children – it made our long journey so much more enjoyable and comfortable."
