"What an amazing place. First the location is great as it is right in the heart of the old city, near the night bazaar and many restaurants. The actual property itself is absolutely beautiful with well kept interiors and lawns, including private books and crannies. The breakfast was great with a lot of selections. The pool is great, especially if you have kids as it has a water slide and whole kids play area in the pool. Basically the place is definitely top tier. The only negative I would have to say is that it is a bit pricey compared to most hotels in Chiang Mai, and also that it's size can make it feel less personal and inviting than other hotels. that being said, one event sealed the deal for us and made a one night stay turn to 4. I lost my camera at an event off-site from, but booked through the hotel. I called them to ask if there was anything they could do (assuming I my camera was a loss). Patt from the hotel staff (who has been incredibly helpful throughout our visit) said she would call the golf course where I lost my camera. less than 40 minutes later she informed me that not only had they found my camera, but the course was going to drop it off at the hotel for me! I had my camera back the next day. I cannot begin to express how amazing the level of support made us feel, and how thankful and impressed I am with the staff at both the Shangri-La and the Gasson Panorama Golf Club. I will be singing their praises for years to come "

"When we booked/reserved this hotel earlier in the year, we didn't realise it would be during the Loy Krathong festival. However, it was a blessing in disguise as the front of the hotel was where the parade passed through not just on our first night but our second night too. We got to experience the festival from the comfort of the main balcony/patio area for guests. On top of this, the hotel gifted us a Krathong to put in the river, which was a 10 minute walk away. The hotel is in a very convenient location, quiet and relaxing. We didn't have breakfast so can't comment on that. The downside would be the bathroom smells a bit damp. Otherwise, all good."

"Great location! We were able to walk everywhere. Our kids liked having McDonald’s nearby while we enjoyed trying different places. Side note, coffee shop at the corner has amazing iced lattes! Staff was very friendly and helpful. We were backpacking and used their laundry service which returned on time and clean. We checked out at noon, but flight was at 5 and kids were a little overheated so the lobby was perfect to relax and play cards. Overall great stay and I would recommend for families."

"A kind professional staff! You know right away that customer service is important to this team. It’s not an overwhelming experience, but a peaceful experience. I like to exercise on my vacations in the pool was perfect for swimming before I went out at night. I also like to walk everywhere possible and was able to find a path directly to restaurants, bars, shopping and clubs basically everything needed. I didn’t plan my stay around the night market, a little disappointed because I would’ve liked to experience it but overall, I didn’t feel I missed out on anything lol. I watched my first Muay Thai event and was surprised that it was a lot more competitive than I expected, and spent a lot of time talking and enjoying conversations with locals. I use Grab and Bolt when I needed a late night ride and extremely simple and affordable. The afternoon snack was perfect timing and the breakfast has plenty of options!! I even did laundry, well I dropped my bag off at the front desk and it came back on time folded!! "

"Lovely boutique hotel designed in traditional Thai style. Rooms are spacious and well appointed. I loved the small lanai for morning coffee or just a comfortable place to read. The smaller pool is a plus. Excellent full breakfast made to order. Staff went beyond expectations to be helpful. "
