"We had a wonderful stay at the shepards hut. The heating and lights had been put on reasy for our arrival as we were later than the check in time . Carol the owner had messaged me earlier in the day with directions which was a nice welcome. She had also given us a lovely recommendation for somewhere to eat that evening. We really enjoyed our stay. "

"My partner and I had the most incredible weekend at The Peacock Pod, and we honestly didn’t want to leave. From the moment we arrived, we felt instantly at home. "Booked this fairly last minute for a bit of peace and quiet and good views and it did not disappoint! Place was spotless with everything you could need. Beautifully situated to give amazing views while also giving you quiet. Love my neighbours entertaining me - the wonderful animals on the property 😃 will definitely be back again ❤️"

"Really nice property with lovely views. Nice owner. The check in process was a bit difficult due to navigation issues as it is hard to find recommend using what 3 words app to help. Surrounding area is very quiet if you are looking for a quiet get away. Very clean area and property. However there is no wifi and the property was listed to have this and the gas fire did not come with any instructions so we could not use it, but there is a heated floor which is lovely. "

"This place hasn't been look after at all for years!When we arrived could only see massive stinging nettles and dumping area. The yurt was dirty, smelled of damp and mould. The towels were not provided as per webside offer and beds were uncomfortable and bedding didn't smell fresh at all. The lightning didn't work on a patio either. "This was our first time staying here and it certainly won't be our last. The shepherd's hut is beautifully decorated and has such a cosy and comfortable feel to it. The under floor heating kept it lovely and warm too despite the snow outside (which also made it super pretty). "Lovely little cabin in the owners grounds, right next to the river. If you’re looking for peace and quiet then it’s perfect, Oswestry is only 15 minutes drive away. Cabin has everything we needed for the 2 nights we stayed. Very easy self check in/out good communication with the owners."

"Great location in the middle of the countryside. Perfect for one or two adults (3-4 might be a squeeze but you'd be fine with little ones). Heather, the host was great, and provided pro-active communication. Wood fired hot-tub was a novelty but worked great. Would highly recommend."

"Stayed here and had a fabulous weekend! Nathan and Shayne were warm and welcoming and the yurt was just wonderful in a very peaceful location. Honestly, the most relaxing break we have had in a long, long time. We will definitely be back soon!"

"This property was the second one in this complex we stayed in. It was much nicer and had a more modern feel however it’s not in the luxury’ category. Heaters worked really well. The mattress was narrower than the frame so was very cramped for two people. The grout in the shower could have been cleaner and there was mould around the edge. The Queen at Chester Hotel, BW Premier Collection

"Arrived prior to check in time , we knew room would’ve ready which wasn’t a problem. Able to leave luggage behind reception. Parking was payable when leaving your car, just scan the QR code at the machine. Able to sit in the bar and watch the comings and goings at Chester Rail station which is directly opposite the hotel. The bus stop for local buses & the hop on hop off bus tour of Chester is out of the hotel and to the left, literally a minute walk. Once checked in (our room was 1705) which is on 7th floor of the newer part of the hotel. My only gripe is there is only 1 lift and it was very slow. Great artefacts on display everywhere. Room was decorated very well, large bed and separate bath and shower. Some of the sealing at the bottom of shower could do with some attention, but apart from that there were no problems. Breakfast was very good, plenty of choice. We ate dinner in the restaurant on the Sunday night which had plenty of choice and was delicious. I would recommend booking dinner though. We were informed we would t need to book as wasn’t very busy, however when we went to eat we were turned away as we hadn’t booked. They did fit us in though eventually. Sunday night we had drinks in the bar. My tipple is a NZ Sauvignon Blanc but only able to purchase a bottle as they didn’t sell it by the glass, disappointingly they had none chilled. Would definitely recommend this hotel. "
