"The hotel gardens and lobby area are beautiful. The rooms are a very good size. Half the staff are wonderful, the other half isn’t. Fairly modern rooms, but the carpet was separating from the wall in one area of the room making it a bit of a tripping hazard. Helpful tips: Don’t use the vending machine. The hotel takes no responsibility for it and it was regularly not dispensing items to people. If you’re a woman travelling alone be aware that the back parking lot is not lit overnight, and...

"The manager Marco was very helpful and went out of the way during checking. Communicated via messages to see if anything was needed. Stayed for 4 nites with family. "As per on other stays the Riccarton Motor Lodge is the best. Great hostess and host. Staff always pleasant and say hi. Lovely big room. one point we did think great was the TV as in some motels we stayed in we have had trouble but the tv was explained by a leaflet circling what you touch and where. Comfy bed, great shower, facilities great."
