"A hidden gem of a hotel. Beautiful building, lovely surroundings. My only reason for not giving it a 5 across the board was that there was a private party in one of the function rooms. Not an issue in itself, however I felt the staff were stretched quite thin as a result and the service was quite slow at dinner, to the point that we had to keep trying to find someone to serve, get the bill etc. Other than that, we had a great time and it wouldn’t deter me from coming back "

"Stayed for five nights. Nice facilites inc fridge and good shower. I asked for a better pillow and i was pleased with the prompt response. The soundproofing into the corridoor could be better and it was disappointing to note that my towels were replaced daily"

"The hotel and the grounds were full of character. The bathroom was incredible. However, the issue was the noise. Needs some serious sound proofing. The room was above reception and was incredibly noisy. Also, the room lacked services considering the price per night. Limited drinks available, and had to ask for bathrobes. "

"Amazingly good staff - friendly and efficient. Surprised no dining room for evening meals but with such good (Michelin starred?) pub 3 minutes walk away they were forgiven. New batteries, with cleaned contacts, were needed in the safe so it was a good job that we weren't too worried about leaving valuables in our room. Excellent breakfast!"

"Most of the staff were very obliging and courteous. The room felt small for a couple and the bathroom had to be entered sideways to get to the toilet. The bath was cleanish, but a deep clean of the room would not have gone amiss. Limited power outlets for hairdryer, not a lady functional room. There was no mattress cover on the mattress, even if they appeared new. The pillows could do with being upgraded. There was one day that we did not receive clean towels, may be because they...
