"I wish I could give this place a rave review because the family who owns it was so friendly and helpful, but it did not live up to our expectations in ways other than the good service. Our "panoramic view" room did not have a panoramic view. This was rated a 4-star hotel, but really isn't one. Our room was rustic, smelled musty, and the bed clothes were old. The breakfast was good, and there were lots of animals and birds on the grounds, and there was a lovely view, just not from our room. "

"What a great place to stay. We travelled with 2 adults and our 17 & 15 year old kids and everyone loved it, and were sad when it was tying to go. The only thing I would change is we stayed in the Monteverde house and the trees about the main suite hit the roof all night when it was windy, but not a big deal at all! Highly recommend!!"

"Wonderful experience. The rooms are all along a steep hill and have great views. We were given Room 28 Premium King bed which is close to the top of the hill and the views were stunning. The hotel has a number of golf carts and someone can take you up there if you need help. The grounds are beautiful and there are trails behind the property which lead to the Aguti reserve to which the hotel provides free admission. The staff and service was excellent as was the hotel restaurant, El Sapo. ...

The room has an exterior entrance for privacy, was large and had a mini fridge, which is appreciated.
