"Pros: Visual architecture is beautiful...very organic looking ! Located close to everything in the town, playa, malacon...easy walks...plenty of eating places. Parking is mostly on street but, easy to find and safe. Clean linen everyday...big walk-in showers...artistic ceiling treatment. Cons: Rooms are sparse and, unfortunately, bathrooms smelled slightly of sewer. Overhead shower spray was weak, irregular, and non-adjustable;"

"Beautiful views of the sea from the Ocean-view rooms! Staff, notably Alessandra the concierge, was very friendly and helpful! It was very windy during our stay, so the sargassum/seaweed built up horribly right in front of the hotel, but walking down the malecon a few blocks gets you to a really nice beach area. Lots of restaurants to choose from including the one at the hotel which served decent food and drinks. I would definitely recommend this area and hotel to others."

"We had a great stay at the exocabanas. The beach is the best in Mahahual, the water is so clear. Bring your goggles. The staff were super friendly and the resort has a gym which we were pleased for. Thanks for a great stay."

"This is a HOSTEL, not a HOTEL. So, PRO: Súper friendly staff, big kitchen you can use, right in front of the beach, in the middle of nowhere. No people around. Perfect for a getaway with no cellphones. "Nice quaint place, bungalows are spacious and private, very good service by staff, delicious food. The beach is nice but small and lots of sargassum. There is no cell phone signal and wifi is very weak, so you are disconnected from the world. No air conditioning. The hotel is 5 km from town and the road has plenty of potholes , 3 km not paved."

"Nice owners, new facility, very clean. Rooms very small with very little room for clothes and no room for gear. Only a bed in the room--no chair, no table, not even a light by the bed. Tiny pool did please my six-year-old but I did not even try. Cheap price was not real and it ended up just as much as other hotels."
