"We travelled from Canada, three sisters and two of our daughters, and wanted to enjoy an authentic English accommodation. We found everything we needed with the unique and luxurious Douglas Cottage. Plenty of space for all five of us, with 3 bedrooms (a total of 4 beds that you melted into, my daughter and I shared the queen bed in the master bedroom ) and 3 bathrooms, it was the perfect fit for us and turned out to be less expensive than 3 hotel rooms. "The cottage was in a perfect location for us. The town centre of Ruthin is within walking distance and there are many interesting destinations a short drive away. The cottage was clean and all the essentials were provided. The bedding and towels were of good quality and the bed was very comfortable. There is secure off-road parking and the garden is fenced around. There is a tall step between the back door and the gravelled garden, but Ruthin is hilly so this should not be a surprise! "

"It is an amazing property, I went with my family as I booked reindeer lodge and made a weekend of the trip and couldn’t fault it at all. The owner got tea, coffee and milk in for us for when we arrived and there was a football net and footballs for the kids, and the garden was massive and secure. I will also add the kids loved waking up and seeing the sheep in the field next door in the morning."

"It’s not worth the price we paid, we booked for 11 person but the bed can only accommodate 10 person that my son end up sleeping on the floor , upstrair toilet floor is leaking down to the kitchen, we emailed the host on the first day but no reply til we check out, So we have to share the the down floor toilet, the hot tub is dirty that we end up cleaning for us to be able to use, dusty and loads of cubweds in one of the bedroom downstairs."

"Five stars for everything - spotlessly clean, spacious and comfortable cottage - we really enjoyed our stay. Lovely lemon cake - I think it was home baked, plus milk in the fridge was a nice touch. Rosemary made us feel welcome."
