"Wonderful experience! The staff was capable and helpful. The food was delicious. And you can’t beat how close the hotel is to Donguri Street and the Glico Man. One small thing is that the door directly to the women’s bath was somewhat broken and hard to open and close. Other than that it’s a great place for a traditional Japanese experience!"

"Had a good one night stay here. I was worried it wouldn’t be enough time to see everything i wanted too, but it turned out to be perfect. You can drop off your luggage before and after you check in which is really nice. Highlights for me were the public bath, and morning ceremony."

"This ryokan was very spacious and was located in the heart of Dotonbori. The staff were very friendly and the property was clean. The halls had a bit of a strange smell, but the room itself was fantastic and had a stunning view of the river."

"Whenever we return to Kobe from US, we stay here at least a couple of days. We always look forward to the quiet atmosphere, excellent buffet for morning and/or evening, or ala carte (menu is very extensive) restaurant. We love the Onsen, of course! This is one of the main reasons we come back to Kobe Minato Onsen Ren. Staff are always courteous and polite. We are planning to stay again in April this year. Looking forward to it very much!"

"This will have to be my most favorite part of my trip to Japan. You will have to intentionally come here for the temple stay. First and foremost, the facility will ONLY ACCEPT CASH payment for the stay. Though my wife and I were not too fond of the shared wash rooms to wash up. I don’t believe the facility has rooms with private wash rooms. The staff was exceptionally nice and helpful. "It was nearly empty so we were upgraded. Usually I think there would be a lot of people. Rooms were excellent and service good. Food was simple but for the price I can’t complain. "

"It’s worth noting that this is not a normal hotel but a traditional pilgrim’s lodging, so it is expected that you sleep on a mat on the floor and the facilities are relatively basic. "Excellent Ryokan that has been well maintained and cared for given its long history. The old facility is evident and yet despite that, provided a cosy stay. "Our room was big and clean and the staff was friendly, overall the temple lodge was s great experience. Koyasan is a truly magical place to visit."

"We got to stay here for the night of news years eve and enjoyed a vegetarian dinner. My husband cannot eat any wheat or gluten so the monks made sure he had a special vegetable dish with no soy sauce. The rooms were at first cold but with the heaters warmed up nicely. "We enjoyed the ryokan very much for the authenticity of old Japan. The dinner and breakfast were outstanding. Wearing the yutaka at the property was such a thrill for us. The staff were so friendly, kind and attentive. Thank you for your hospitality. We enjoyed our stay immensely. Such a contrast from the hustle and bustle of Tokyo and Osaka central. "It is close to a JR station and a metro station, convenient to get around Osaka and to places outside Osaka. The area is also quiet, the room is clean and appliances provided were thoughtful and useful. There are also food places nearby. We enjoyed our stay and would stay again."

"I was not expecting this place to be great but it really is great. It’s an interesting setup architecturally. The entire hotel is actually open to the outside. Room was clean and had everything I needed. Water bottles fillers! Thank you! Nice bar. Nice breakfast buffet. Just awesome. No issues at all. "

"We are a family of 4 with 2 younger kids. Our room is massive with 4 double beds. Everything is in this hotel. Laundry, resto, shops and few minutes walk to Universal Studios. You can see the USJ from our room but make sure to specify that when booking. All amenities are available for guest to grab at the lobby. "

Convenient location with modern rooms

" Great location close to everything. Walking distance to Dotonburi Street and station is downstairs to hotel. 7-11 ATM is close by if you need cash and plenty of convenience stores and restaurants downstairs if you are hungry after walking around all day. Rooms were modern and clean and beautiful view of the city. Loved the European architecture in lobby area and around hotel. Staff were helpful and sent my sweater I left in room after check out on accident to my next hotel. Laundry service was quick and affordable. Only complaint is that I wished they offer to help you bring luggage up to your room especially it being a 4 star hotel. That gesture will go a long way when it was a battle just to get the luggage to hotel through all the stations or airports. "
