"This ryokan is very conveniently located beside a bus stop, which makes transportation easy around the hakone area. They also have a shuttle bus to gora station. We had the room with private onsen, it was so amazing we were speechless! Our half board included kaiseki dinner with crab and japanese style breakfast, which are also 10/10. The whole experience was delicate, the service was attention to detail oriented. The only thing I wish they could improve would be the noise while dining, the sound of the staff walking and handling the plates, as well as one particular staff talking very loudly. "

"I stayed here for two nights after completing the Tokyo Marathon, I could not have chosen a better place to rest, recover and indulge myself. Logistics of getting Care from Tokyo via the romance car ti Hakone, then the opposite platform for the local train ..then 50 paces from the local train station to the hotel shuttle bus, which runs every 20 minutes Could not have been more convenient. The breakfast is out of this world with Weston and Japanese options and dinner was sublime."

"This hotel is worth every dollar. Although a little high up in the mountain with not much to walk to around it, it was definitely worth staying there. Very welcoming and warm you feel right at home. The spa facility was very nice and cozy. We also enjoyed dinner at the hotel which was delicious and highly recommended by locals for the wood fire oven. We walked to a small sushi restaurant as well right by the hotel for lunch and it was surprinsingly very good! We had bad weather and only stayed 1 night but it was very enjoyable. The rooms we booked were amazing, so spacious, with views and private onsens. I definitely recommend it. Staff was very nice and helped a lot with transportation and other questions"

"Booked this room for the private onsen and it was quite a lovely experience. We brought our luggage to them early in the morning and asked them to hold it until our check in so we could explore and after we checked in and made it to our room they sent someone to bring the luggage up. There was a breakfast buffet included with our room and it had a really nice variety of foods from western to Japanese. Staff spoke great English "

"Loved staying at this almost 400 year old onsen! I stayed two nights, which was perfect for me on my little two week solo Japan adventure. My room with the private onsen was clean and spacious. The food… oh my lanta, THE FOOD. Amazing. Different breakfast and dinner every day/night. The service provided by staff like Mr. K Nagashino during service, check-in and check-out, was very hospitable. The private onsen was also a plus for me since I have a lot of tattoos and didn’t want to offend/be disrespectful to anyone (or pay for the patches they had available there since I would of had to buy like 12 lol) by using the public onsens. So I can’t speak on those. But it was very relaxing being able to look out into the mountains of Hakone on a rainy/snowy day from my in-room onsen. Just know that there is a road near those rooms, which didn’t bother me at all. My only hassle was getting there since I took the bus. But the employees at the bus stops/terminals were a big help in addition to using Google maps. Will definitely be back! And would 10/10 recommend!"

"The view from the hotel is absolutely stunning! The building and property were very clean, staff were friendly and the food was great. The only downside..the accessibility to local restaurants and public transport is by shuttle and you have to get a taxi for your return trip. "

"This place is by the last stop in the ropeway. It has impeccable decor and amenities. Recommend getting the in room tub on your balcony. They also have foot bath outside and onsen. The food in the dining area was very good and you get great traditional Japanese attire while you are there. Note: this is far from Odawara. If you come in they have a shuttle 3 times a day if you book in advance. That’s recommended over the city bus."
