"Our family spent one night at this traditional Ryokan during our time in Kyoto. The service was impeccable, from the moment the shuttle bus picked us up at the train station and throughout our stay. A designated staff member greeted us, offered us tea, and then went over the amenities of the property with us. We reserved the private onsen so we could enjoy it as a family (regular communal onsen is not coed). The onsen is a natural outdoor hot spring with medicinal benefits! Dinner and breakfast were nutritious and delicious, and the mats we slept on on the tatami floor offered a comfortable night of sleep. Would definitely stay here again! "

"This hotel is quite new and still looks amazing. Dining room is lovely, onsen is fantastic. Staff were very attentive and helpful. We loved staying in Kameoka and commuting into Kyoto because after the crowds in Kyoto it was so refreshing to come back to quiet and clean Kameoka. We enjoyed every minute of our stay."

"Great place to stay"

"This was a unique experience! It was my first time at a ryokan so I can only comment from my one encounter. But this location felt unique and beautiful, being secluded in wooded hills while remaining a short bus ride back to Kyoto. It also had both private open-air baths and a small public bath as well. The staff at this inn went out of their way to accommodate us, from the waiting shuttle at the bust stop to helping with our bags, walking us through what to expect at check in (despite language barriers on our part), how to use the amenities in our room, and pouring us green tea. Staying in a traditional Japanese style room had the sense of what older times may have been like there, in both design and functionality. And in our room selection we slept on comfortable futons over a tatami mat floor with plush duvet coverings. As for the food, there were many courses and it was beautifully prepared and served. Not all of it was familiar or what I was accustomed to, but part of the enjoyment was trying different things and I really appreciated that. If there was one thing I missed, it was that our stay in February ended up very cold, so I wish we could have explored the outdoor areas. A reason to visit again someday~ : ) Thank you for your hospitality! "

"This property was absolutely epic. Extremely fast communication, gorgeous house and delicious dinner coordinated during a time when most things are shut. Mari and her team were so great. We regretted we didn't have more than one night to enjoy this picturesque village and perfect house. It surpassed all expectations. My group was 6 family members and we stayed at 8 different places all over Japan for a two week adventure and all 6 agreed this property ranked #1 of all. Can't wait to return and spend more time there in the future. Trust me and all of the other reviews.... it is amazing. "

"Our crew enjoyed a delightful time in the Kyoto farmhouse. The hosts were most accommodating, Hideo-San is a man of many talents, and his wife is compassionate and very kind. The house itself had the necessary items for cooking and living comfortably. There is a very sweet café, which features kitties and delicious food just a few footsteps away. If we ever find ourselves in this part of the world again, we will certainly reach out and reconnect with these sweet landlords. "
