"Good place to stay. Quite close to route of travel between England and Scotland. Aldi, Petrol station, washing machines, restaurants all around the accommodation. Excellent communication with Joanne for checking in. There is a handy small shared kitchen on the ground floor."

"The bed was comfortable and clean. Nice decor. Chairs were not comfortable, too low. Nobody on the premises during the night. No emergency phone numbers supplied. Very little in the way of literature about the area. Security of residents’ rooms was questionable. Members of the public had access to the stairs near the front door to the bar."

"We enjoyed our 2 night stay at the Royal Oak. Food can be ordered in the evening until 8pm and the menu is extensive and good value. We received a friendly welcome at this family run inn. The full english breakfast was delicious and included in our room price which made it very good value. The bedroom was large with a fairly new ensuite shower and toilet. There are woods across the road where we walked our dog. 15 mins to Durham made it perfect for our needs. I am sure we will return. The...

"Property itself inside was clean and tidy - this property is obviously a work in progress and would love and visit again in say 6 months to see how far things have progressed.. rooms themselves are immaculate and definitely underpriced.. do need to look at the entry system for the property as front was not working and the back was erratic.. overall though was very impressed at the facilites on offer and location is superb.."

"Overall everything was good, our only issue was after being there for a few days we noticed the toaster was full of crumbs, obviously not been emptied for quite some time, and the oven tray had not been cleaned after it had been used. We hadn’t met the owner, so decided it was easier just to clean them both before using them. On the hole, everything else was excellent. "Lovely stay at Meadhon House as part of a Borders exploration trip. Easy walking distance to Jedburgh Abbey and town centre. The room was beautifully furnished and very well appointed. Breakfast was very tasty with good options. Lovely warm welcome from Amanda and Rob - turns out it is a very small world indeed! We shall return if ever back in the area. "

"Excellent fewdays in Hawick. Loads to do in Hawick, places to get food & drink excellent and Saturday's can have a real buzz about town if rugby club win. That said Hawick High Street is a bit tired looking & could do with a bit of money spent o it. It has potential to be an excellent visit venue. The Bank Bank House was top class. Donna (the owner) couldn't be more helpful. Ecellemt location, comfy, stylish & clean. Will be back next time im down in Hawick."

"Stayed two nights and it was lovely. Very convenient for food and drink. Didn’t spend that much time there as we were walking part of Hadrians Wall. Would definitely recommend it though. "

"Arrived at the lodge and was greeted by 2 lovely hosts who showed us to our room and was very helpful and told us some very interesting facts about the lodges (an all girls school built before the ww2 I do believe ).
