"Overall everything was good, our only issue was after being there for a few days we noticed the toaster was full of crumbs, obviously not been emptied for quite some time, and the oven tray had not been cleaned after it had been used. "The property is clean, tidy and comfortable. The little communal kitchen area is a very good idea for making food or sitting in while eating a takeaway. There is plenty of tea and coffee in the room, and also a little fridge for storing milk, drinks, food etc. Have stayed before, hence why I returned again. It is convenient for many uses and close to the A1. There are local shops, takeaways and a petrol station all within walking distance. The only negative I had, was that it was too warm. So, I...

"Our stay was disappointing overall. We were staying in the Family Room, but were not advised when booking that on our second night immediately below that room would be a rock band, performing until 10:30pm. Immediately below the Family Room!?!?!? The floor was literally shaking, which left us with 3 distressed children. A really appalling situation. On top of that, after a disappointing dinner on the first evening (our order was lost by the kitchen, so our food took 90 minutes to arrive, and...

"I booked this apartment for my engineer, he attended site and was told this is in a bad area of town. He went back to the apartment around 9pm and there were multiple parties in the area and had strangers approach him and was made very uncomfortable. He drove back to London. Would not recommend this property. "

"I booked in January for a summer weekend, arrived in July to find hotel closed and had to find another hotel. I contacted the hotel through expedia and through their website twice in the week running up to my stay. The Guest House did not respond I arrived to find Hall Bank Guest House locked up and closed. I had to find emergency accomodation for the night. I suggest that potential holidaymakers think very carefully before risking booking Hall Bank Guest House"

"Ideal for a night out in Newcastle, approx £4 for a taxi into town rooms were fine only downside was there wasn’t a way to turn the heating off so had to sleep with the windows open which meant it was quite noisy but the man on reception was lovely and room had everything you need for a nights stay"

"Perfect for a lone traveller with some mobility issues to have a bedroom and shower room on the ground floor. Useful supplies of milk, tea coffee and a Nespresso machine. Toiletries supplied for the bathroom. The bed was extremely comfortable and I slept well. A guide book to the cottage contained lots of useful information to the cottage and surrounding area. It was a very relaxing couple of days and I hope to be back next year. Thank you Claire for making it so pleasant."

"We had a lovely stay. Nice views over the fields. Kitchen well equipped with tea, coffee, fresh milk and biscuits. Luxury feel. Enjoyed the hot tub which was warm and ready for us arriving. Would recommend this place and I think we’ll be back."

"We were working in the area, easy public transport into centre asda literally 2minutes walk away, property was very clean and tidy and any questions were answered straight away . Ideal for what we needed, will definitely be staying again"

"It was great value for the price. The hotel has clearly been recently refurbished. The room was spacious, modern and comfortable. The bed was very firm but that suited me. Air con/heating options. Good sized TV. Modern bathroom with a good shower and very hot water (but an unnecessarily odd and impractical tap in the basin!) I'd be happy to stay here again for the price I paid."
