This was by far the coolest we have ever been at.We booked very last minute because we wanted to extend our stay in Volcano to see Kilauea erupt.Quiet, peaceful, extremely clean. So charming and unique. We were obsessed with the furnishings. Read outside and listened to the birds daily. Super close to Volcano National park. Loved it. Will stay again for sure if given the opportunity."

The wind coming off the sea was sufficient to cool the house and sometimes at night it was cold. The sounds of the waves crashing against the cliffs was the best "white noise" to fall asleep or read your favorite book. The place is stocked with the tools you need to cook with. "The Thomas Guard house is a gem in Hilo. The location is perfect - not in the middle of the city but close enough to walk to local restaurants. The beautiful grounds, the waterfall, the river running through the backyard, they all added to the charm. The house is beautifully decorated and immaculately clean. Charlotte has thought of all the details to make this a wonderful place to stay. It was a perfect way to unwind from an otherwise busy life. "
