"We stayed for one night in the Sky Room. The room has lovely views of the city, ocean, and inbound flights landing at the Hilo airport off in the distance. We chose this place due to price point, proximity to downtown and the in-room jet bathtub. "It was amazing to find the place and then we found it and it was in the jungle plants everywhere. It was absolutely beautiful and it was like a bed-and-breakfast so it was pretty nice. Coffee was good. Food was good and we enjoyed ourselves immensely."

"After searching through many listings, we decided to book Kimi’s ohana. Previous reviews are spot on! It is comfortable and a good value. The landscaping and partial ocean view from back deck enhanced our stay even more.Efficient a/c unit maintains your comfort. Kitchen is well supplied with quality dish and cookware. Also a gas grill to bbq that wonderful island beef!We enjoyed visiting with Kimi, and meeting her rescue cat Harley! Kimi is always available, but respects her guests privacy...

"This is the real Hawaii! The property is located in a relatively remote area about 30 minutes south of Pahoa. Beautiful setting in the middle of a forest not too far from the beach. Isaac Hale Park is within walking distance and although the beach isn’t very safe for swimming there is a pond there that you can swim in. "We stayed here 8 days. The place was very clean and nice accommodations. We liked that it was close the Kona airport. Nice location to go anywhere on the island from. Even had ocean views. The front bedroom has a window ac unit (though you rarely need it). The other bedroom has blackout shades. The unit has Jalousie windows (very common in Hawaii and tropics). We just opened them up and let the breezes do there thing day and night. Both bedrooms have ceiling fans, plus they provided free...

"Beautiful house from the mid-1930’s filled with wonderful artifacts and Hawaiiana. Nice kitchen area for in home cooking - pots pans rice cooker etc- Comfynooks for relaxing- great wrap around deck with lounge chairs and a dining table! The garden is lush and creative. There are many cocqui frogs at night so if that bothers you, there is even ears plugs! Our only negative was that due to a plumbing issue my husband could not soak in the tub (for his degenerative disk) altho the shower worked...

"We stayed here from 4/2 till 4/10 and had awesome experience. Property is great and clean, condos are spacious, it is quite and safe around. Only one small disadvantage is lack of shopping infrastructure and beaches in walkable distance, but if you have a car, you can reach shopping, dinning, beaches after the 10 minutes drive"
