"Paniolo Greens was peaceful and very quiet. We had a fully stocked kitchen and the beds were really comfortable. Very well kept and extremely clean property. "

"There was no coffee available. The lobby wasn't going to open until 10:00 a.m., and though it looked like they would have coffee there, none was available, nor was it the afternoon/evening before. Very disappointed about that. Otherwise the place was lovely."

"The hotel is right on the beach and ground is well kept. Staff very friendly. We got upgraded to a premier room which is spacious. The view is amazing. There is free guest laundry services on site with plenty of detergent available and four washers and four dryers.Read the brochure given while checking in and you will see several perks covered under resort fee like daily snorkel gear for 2 hours free. They also have go pro complimentary rental for 24 hours from the pool desk. However they are hard to come by. Also bring your own micro SD chip to use in the go pro. It is a wonderful place to stay!"

"Great staff and service. Dated rooms, less than great fixtures and furniture. Lots of in room tile but very comfortable beds. Very expensive food and drinks, but most items were tasty - however the Mai Tai's were the worst I have had at any luxury resort. It's not the Four seasons or The Ritz Carlton and has limited hours for room service (strange for a 5 star resort hotel), but you also don't pay the premium price for the accommodations. The grounds were immaculate and clean, the views were incredible, the pool was great for kids and families (wish they would have a separate pool for the obnoxious and inebriated adults), and the beach/lagoon was conveniently close and perfect for swimming and snorkeling. Ultimately it was worth the trip and would consider staying there again, should our next Hawaii trip be at the Big Island."

"My husband and I stayed here years ago for our anniversary and loved it so much, we came back! We brought our family and some friends and their kids. It was a great set up for all of us. And lovely location! Breathtaking views of the valley and the ability to easily get to the quaint town of Honoka’a. We specifically chose this location so we could have a central spot to come back to after exploring parts of the northern area of the island. Highly recommend! "

"We wanted to get away from the harsh Boston winter and thought of trying something different as it was our first visit to Big Island. This house did not disappoint, pictures in the listing did not do it justice. The house is beautiful! Clean and well stocked with every amenity you can imagine. The open plan living room/dining area is furnished with high end teak furniture, modern and clutter free. The kitchen looked like it was from a magazine. The expansive Lanai with ocean views stretched across the width of the house. Each of the end master bedrooms had french doors opening to the lanai, We slept with the doors open all night, lulled by the sound of ocean waves. It was the best nights’ sleep ever! We woke to the crows of roosters and the moos of cows. The pantry was well stocked with spices and basics, anything else needed was a short drive to Foodland in the next town of Waimea. We were happy that James, the host and caretaker was a text away. He lives in the unit below and whenever we needed anything he would appear with it. He is a delight to talk to, very knowledgeable about the area. We did day trips to Volcano Park, Waipio Valley, had a fancy dinner at Merriman’s, Hawaiian cowboy BBQ at Fish and Hog and malasadas at Tex-Drivein. The historic town of Honokaa is 10 minutes away, we loved the little museum. Farmers’ markets and Wednesdays and Saturdays are a must see. All in all the house is a way to experience true Hawaii. We are making plans to come back next winter."
