"The TV in our room never worked properly. I told the front desk the first day and asked again. No one ever came to check the TV. It was out of focus. Also, the site advertised free breakfast and a pool; there was no breakfast at all… not even coffee in lobby and the pool was drained. The staff did not offer alternatives to breakfast even though there was a place attached to one part of the hotel. I thought it was closed. My room was clean but the stairs and outside was not swept and sloppy....

"Great property! The grand decor was lovely and very clean. Each floor had coffee and muffins every morning, and fruit during the day. That was a very convenient touch. The roof top pool was excellent and food was great. The lobby was very cool and I wish I had had time to dine at the steak restaurant. Very convenient to lots of cool restaurants and coffee shops. I am already booking another trip and will stay there again. "

One tip to the traveler: If you drink as much water as I do, they have a fantastic filtered water machine with their hallway ice machine. "Great location! Walkable to everything we wanted to do for our short stay in Charleston from a carriage ride, to the best restaurants, to shopping the market or King St. The room was charming but far from sound proof, the handles were broken so we could not open the wardrobe, and there were carpenter bees hovering outside the door when it was sunny. Nice bathroom and decent beds. "
