"Be aware if it matters; it is not a full service bed and breakfast. There is no staff on site usually. The room and accommodations were fine but its more a self service model. Also it is about a mile or so to most of the main 'attractions' if walking is an issue. "

"The John Rutledge House Inn is a living history museum. The building is incredible, the amenities are excellent, and the staff is knowledgeable about the building's history and the city. "

"The inn is adorable and quaint. It’s an old Charleston single. But if you have trouble with stairs, you wouldn’t want to book the upper rooms. The staircase is narrow and steep. Also it’s not the most quiet as it’s situated in a busy area, but no worries, just use the white noise machine they provide or bring your own personal fan like we did. "

"Fantastic quick getaway. Tucked away between the marsh and the town. Walking distance to beach and food etc. Cool place with a cool island vibe even in January. They even offer golf cart ride if you need."

"We had a lovely large room at the Inn. The area around the Inn was quiet, as residential. The restaurant located within was very nice with great food selections and friendly staff. Even the housekeeping staff were very accommodating and made our stay very pleasant. We would definitely return to the Inn at I’ON should we be in the area of Charleston again. "

"My bride and I wanted a quick get-away to Charleston. We have been visiting Charleston for many years but our first time through VRBO / Airbnb. The booking process was easy. The room was clean and the property was safe. The room was small but very comfortable. The Nicholas is perfectly located to most of the attractions and restaurants. Short walk to Kings Street, the Market, shops, historic tours, etc. Price and staff were very responsive. We will stay again. Phil and Susie"

"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and everything was in excellent shape. Only problem we had was that we never received our check-in email with access codes and there is no one on the premises to help. I was able to call the VRBO number and get the email re-sent thankfully which allowed us to get into the unit."

"Our room was spacious & beautifully appointed. We enjoyed our breakfast each morning on the porch nestled into the couches people watching & enjoying the breeze. The house has been lovingly remodeled but kept all that charm. The "lobby" area is stocked with everything you could need & delicious mint chocolate squares! We were able to walk everywhere & thoroughly enjoyed all the routes we took exploring the city. We will definitely be back."

"Loved this little gem!! Upon entering, we met a wonderful young woman who works at the property and was happy to hear we were from the same neck of the woods. We were treated with a bottle of wine, chocolate and coffee so what could go wrong?! Our room was on the ground floor and it was cozy, and super clean! Loved all the amenities that were included. "Perfect place for our girls weekend. Location is great as well. We each had our own room and bathroom which was a plus. It was so nice to sit in the living room each morning while having our coffee telling stories about the night before. Salty Dogs is a great hole in the wall to start your nightly adventures. Be sure to bring towels and paper products as toilet paper and paper towels were limited. Enjoy!"
