"Samba Azul is a wonderful home for your stay on St. John. I have been to St. John many times, but I usually stay with family friends who live there and haven't needed to rent a home until now because we were there for a wedding. With that said, this home exceeded all expectations. The grand-open living room and kitchen is perfect for family time, and then you can retreat into your large bedroom on either side for a good nights sleep. Though, you likely won't want to spend much time inside while at the house since you have an incredible view of Chocolate Hole that you can gaze at while eating at the large gathering table or at the edge of the pool. In addition to the beautiful house itself, you are provided with anything and everything you need. Multiple ways to make coffee with some grounds there already to start your day off right, and tons of beach towels and chairs to comfortably hit the beach. I don't think this house deserves anything less than 5 stars. However, accessibility to town without a car is difficult. Taxis don't go up there, so you can't have too much fun at night and get back easily. Finally, I'll note that many people attending the wedding who also rented villas had told me about numerous issues they had with their stays, including broken furniture, no hot water, and other homeowner issues that you don't want to deal with while you're on vacation. That is not what you'll get at Samba Azul. It is clean, well kept, and offers a great break from reality. "

"We traveled to St John with another couple and this location was great! The host was very receptive to my many questions beforehand and was quick to respond to an issue we had. It was clean and ready when we got there. We very much appreciated the coolers, beach chairs, and umbrellas that were there for us to use! I bought a pool noodle to use at the beach and realized when we got back there were several already there!! It was very kind of them to meet us at the car rental to lead us to the house, helped us with getting used to driving on the left side of the road and navigating the curvy and hilly roads. We didn’t use the pool, so can’t comment on that. The views were stunning! "

"We had 2 couples to enjoy the Blue Dolphin for 5 nights. The property manager, JP, was very accomodating and helpful when one of our couples had a travel delay. JP was a gracious host that made us feel at home immediately. The house is wonderful and the infinity edge pool is perfect. Grill worked well and the kitchen is well stocked. AC worked well and the drive to the house is easy compared to many on St. John! Easy access to the Westin where a number of boat charters operate out of. Would book here again in a heartbeat. "
