"Unfortunately Hotels dot com double booked the room so my "guaranteed" booking was in fact not guaranteed and I had no bed for the night!! H.C knew about the lack of availability 2 days before I was told (1 hour before check in). So, with no time to find a alternative my weekend was ruined. I must stress this has nothing to do with the hotel, I just suggest you use a different company to book. "

"Had a fabulous stay. Staff were just amazing. They really couldn't do enough. Rooms were lovely but bathroom a bit dated. Comfortable beds with absolute silence all night. We stayed just before Christmas and the open fire and Christmas Decs were so welcoming. Will definitely stay again"

"Tony was very welcoming great greeting friendly happy person I asked where I could get a meal and he gave me directions to a lovely restaurant food was great value and excellent quality the staff were very friendly too Breakfast at hotel was amazing cooked by Tony’s wife great start to the day "

Brilliant stay, great hotel location

"This was our first time staying in a Mercure. The location was ideal for us, close to the centre but not too busy and more reasonable price. The lounge and bar downstairs was lovely. Nice Christmas decorations too. Check in was easy and efficient. Room was great, very clean, everything we needed. The layout, tv and bathroom felt more modern and slightly more high end compared to a Premier Inn. We will definitely stay at a Mercure again!"
