"I might say you get what you pay for. Normally I stay at Nomada Beach hostel, but since I was on a shoestring I went the budget route with Casa Santurce. It was a low key place but the bunk rooms are cramped, and their is no kitchen. For a few dollars more at Nomada you get a pool, a nice kitchen, much better showers, and many different sitting areas. I'd suggest that Casa Santurce make this more cooking friendly, and also provide a few more places to sit."

"Loved my time at Casa Coral! Such a positive and relaxed place. The beach is right there, and the people running it are so welcoming. The sunrise and rooftop terrace are awesome. We stayed in a private room with shared bathrooms and it was a different but fine experience. "The staff was great. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. The place is not very well maintained. Mosquitoes ripped me to shreds in the bathroom and bedroom. There were roaches in the bathroom at night. The bed was not very comfortable. Although the staff was great, I would not stay here again. "

"I stayed for a week with two other friends. We really enjoyed our stay. Very walkable to Old San Juan and Balneario del Escambrón Beach (around 15 minutes each). There are multiple dining options (also walkable), but I recommend eating at Old San Juan. The only point of discomfort was that we could not throw toilet paper down the toilet, but that's because the pipes around Old San Juan are an older version.
