Only critique would be that the bed was two singles pushed together with a noticeable gap in the middle rather than the advertised “super king”. The room was also adjacent a stairwell which was quite noisy at times and adjoining what I assume was a staff area and also quite noisy."

"Very good hotel, centrally situated close to all shops and amenities. Rooms were very comfortable and spacious a modern bathroom with powerful shower. The Fat Badger restaurant was superb very well mannered staff, the food was excellent and very busy would advise to book. The bar area was also very busy with a good selection of wines, beers and spirits. My only gripe was the cost of the car park, it seemed quite steep for people residing and spending money within the hotel and not receiving a...

"Nice quiet hotel within easy walking distance of the centre of York. Lots of bars and restaurants around the hotel. Hotel parking and a public car park are a short walk away. Very friendly helpful reception staff, we arrived early, they held our luggage and transferred it to our room when it became available."

"We had a lovely stay at the Elmbank, the rooms are modern and stylish and the rest of the hotel is nice. The hotel did feel short of staff at times with the bar man having to run the bar and prepare food. We ordered food one evening and it was pretty basic for the price. I did notice that some of the communal areas could have been cleaner, the floors were dusty in areas. The breakfast was good, but being a smaller hotel, I have had better at bigger places.
