"Staff were very friendly and helpful. Parking is a bit of a nightmare as its so busy and not just for hotel guests. Hotel has some beautiful features. Our room was very large and comfortable, a little tired in places but that is the usual when you book a dog room. The dog bed and bowl was a nice touch. Food was very nice. I would 100% stay again."

"Nice hotel, got a friendly welcome from the reception staff and the room was lovely and clean with everything we needed and a massive comfy bed. Location is perfect for walking into town with plenty of eating options en-route. "

"Extremely clean and beautiful fresh quality bedding and towels.Lovely big room and bathroom, we had 2 superking beds which were perfect for our family. All staff were very welcoming and always great you with a smile 😊 Enjoyed the atmosphere in the bar and breakfast was absolutely delicious 😋 A most beautiful building, steeped in history, it’s been our pleasure to stay here. "This was a great stay for 2 adults and 2 children. Despite there being a sign up on arrival that there was a private event with music till midnight… I didn’t hear a thing, the rooms are nice and quiet, the pool was lovely to wind down in after a busy day, and the breakfast was great, plenty of choice, fresh and was replenished often. Parking is £7 for each night, and there is a bus stop on the opposite side of the road just outside the hotel to take you into York, the bus’s are every 15 minutes and we purchased a family all day ticket for around £9.60 which was super convenient, overall a fantastic couple of days was has by all! "

"Stayed in a superior room.Lovely stay at a beautiful hotel , All the Staff were excellent. The rooms were cleaned to perfection. Meals including breakfast couldn't have been better. Plenty of parking and lovely walks. All out time there we NEVER had disturbing noise from other rooms, perfectly quiet. The ONLY let down was the Pool was closed due to refurbishing. Should be lovely next time. I would highly recommend this hotel ."
