The room was ok but the restaurant staff and cleanliness was nowhere near the standard you would expect for a four star hotel and the preported excellence of the hotel
We went for dinner in the on site restaurant and were given dirty menus next to a wall that had food on it and the staff were to busy talking to know which part of the process they were at as nobody came to take a drinks order and then the waiter was surprised when we asked for drinks before ordering food .
When we finally got our food the starters were very average and the main course was very very poor the beef bourginion was more like a cottage pie filling with some large chunks of beef chucked in and the chicken supreme came with the same red wine based beef gravy.
Working in the industry I never remove the service charge but on this occasion I most certainly did and when asked to fill out a comment card I had barely finished writing this when the manager of the restaurant was trying to take it off the counter in front of me so all in all not the best experience

Service waiting for meals to be delivered from hotel restaurant to stables bar food was cold and no egg on my gammon meal by the time it arrived I had ate most of my meal
The location was reall convenient yet relaxed and peaceful. The room was super clean, the breakfast was great and the staff were all lovely. Access to the on site pub was also great for a quick evening meal.
Had almost no sleep due to constant noise from heating pipes. Writing this at 4.53am as I can't sleep. We have a conference here today which I will struggle with as not slept, and have to drive back to Nottingham after.
Great accommodation for short visit for golf tournament at Moortown

I recently stayed here for a couple of nights. I arrived 1 hr before the check in time and was advised that no rooms were ready so I waited a while and was given the key for Room 18.
I found the room to be in a poor state. The room was tired and needs to be redecorating.
* The curtains were hanging off one side of the rail and didn't close in the middle.
* Cobwebs noticeable around the curtains and window.
* Remote control for the TV was filthy.
*Teaspoon provided also filthy.
However the biggest issue was found in the bathroom and the window frame was covered in black mould which obviously had been there for some time.
The room was cold and when I asked for the heating to be switched on I was told it came on around 6pm and it could not be switched on in each individual room.
After finding the mould in the bathroom and around the glass of the bedroom window my patience ran out and I asked for an employee to look at the room and explain the state it was in.
The employee apologised for the state of the room and offered me another room for the remainder of my stay. This room was a vast improvement.
What I do not understand is why Room 18 was deemed suitable for a guest to stay in? The mould in the bathroom was very pronounced. The window frame was black and, as mentioned earlier, this had obviously been the case for a considerable amount of time.
